I have to say that this award, although a great tribute to me personally and professionally, is not mine alone. Countless others have contributed to this honor paid to me. From my earliest mentors such as Terry Sullenberger and Fayma Heard to the to the members of the Mesilla Fire Department and my co-workers at Mountain View whom I work with now, all have made this honor possible. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with some of the finest and bravest of the public safety community. Many challenged me to excel, encouraged me to reach higher and hassled me when I slacked off. And so many put their faith in me even when I had none for myself. This accolade was also made possible my the support and love of my family, especially my wife Carolann. Last but most importantly none of this, my career, the people I have had to honor and privilege to work with or the patients and families I have cared for, could have happened without the love and grace of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gifted me with skills and opportunity, protected me in danger, forgave me of my wrongs and lifted me up when I was down. He used so many people to do these things even when they did not realize God was working through them to bless and help me. God bless each and everyone I have had the opportunity to work with, care for, minister to and receive from.

On His Shift,
Kevin Hoban
